Queen of Figure Skating: You are free now

48 hours on, I still have not been able to watch the video of Kim Yu-Na taking the first ever gold (and also podium finish) for Korea in Olympic figure skating. Basically, if you miss live screening on TV and if the country you reside in doesn’t offer an online service that lets you view the Olympic Games footage you want, you are screwed thanks to the copyright restrictions laid down by the IOC.
In fact, I am not able to put up even a single photo of Kim in her gorgeous blue dress or any visuals that exhibit anything associated with the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics for that matter. So, as far as graphics is concerned, this is the best I can do to demonstrate my enthusiasm and best wishes for the successful completion of the 21st Winter Olympics:

Here’s what I wanted to say to the Queen of Figure Skating: You are free now. Freedom must be the feeling you’re enjoying more than anything right at this moment; that is, free from the incalculable pressure to meet everyone’s expectation all these years that ruthlessly cornered you into an impossible choice between a once-in-a-lifetime achievement and a life-long disappointment despite all that you had built prior to the Olympics. Truly well done. As a fan, it’s just awesome that you and I share the same birthday. I might cry when I finally get to watch your Vancouver 2010 performances someday.
